Hypnobirthing is a birthing method that uses self-hypnosis and relaxation techniques to help a woman feel physically, mentally and spiritually prepared for birth by reducing her fear, anxiety and pain during childbirth.

It helps the endorphins to flow, thus opening the pathway for the birthing hormones (oxytocin, prostaglandins etc) and prevents the flight or fright hormones like adrenaline/nor-adrenaline which would otherwise shut down your body.

Hypnobirthing generally teaches the parents to practice and use a combination of music, visualization, positive thinking and words to relax the body and control sensations during labor.
